For me, this is easy..Mom should take daughter to get birth control pills and then on a shopping spree to the condom isle at Walgreen's. At least that's what I plan to do! It's foolish to think you can somehow shame your kids into not being sexually active. Truth is, at 17, if my daughter is becoming sexually active, I'll be relieved she didn't start sooner.
We have to let our daughters be as open with us as possible. We have to be there for them and share our hard learned wisdom. When your child is 17..they are gonna do what ever they want anyway. It's best to be supportive and keep our daughters talking to us about everything. It's foolish to shut her out when she might need your mom advice more then ever.
